This review is in response to the ads on television by MTV for its VJ Hunt. These days no one makes ads or movies using Cancer, HIV/AIDS and Leprosy as a source of humour or for entertainment. They used to. Now everyone is sensitized about these illnesses.
Unfortunately Mental illness is still being used as something to provide entertainment and humour. When one gets mental illness there is so much of suffering. It changes their lives forever. Yet it continues...such an insensitive and irresponsible ad in MTV channel watched by so many young people.
Wassup MTV India?
Wassup owner Viacom?
Your ads on billboards.
Even in the bus stops in Delhi.
Proclaim a VJ Hunt for MTV.
‘Looking for patients in Mad House’..
They state….
With Cyrus Broacha in a doctor’s garb
A MTV VJ once original
Young and funny.
Alas! Now just like Putrid Dhansak.
When thrown in the Arabian Sea
Cause cast iron stomached living organisms
To puke! Yo !
What VJ is MTV India hunting for?
The likes of their late VJ…
Nafisa Joseph ….
Who killed herself?
Tall and beautiful!
How she spoke up for stray animals!
Was she a patient in a madhouse?
Or fighting losing battle with Depression?
Would she be alive today?
Alas! Unlikely!
With MTV India, VJ Cyrus,
Spreading stigma shamelessly,
Just like the oil slicks in the blue oceans.
To Kill! Yo !
Pagalkhana, Madhouse patients jaise shabdh Stigmatizing hai !
Jo Depression, Schizophrenia, Bipolar se struggle karte hai..
6.5 crore hai aise hamare Bharatwasi, ...
Youth be aaj kal ke circumstances me vulnerable hai.
Agar aise shabd MTV prayog karenge...
Young people counsellors aur doctors ke paas nahi jayange...
Bandh Karo Yeh Stigma ! Thoda Sensitivity dikhao !
Sirf AIDS ke liye Lal ribbon mat pahan,
‘Mental Health Day’ aur ‘Suicide Prevention Day’ me awareness kar...
Kabhi apne MJ Nafisa Joseph ko yaad kar!
Aur Pagaalkhana, "Madhouse patients jaise shabdh par laat maar.
