Vintage Sheldon!

Last week I picked up ’’If Tomorrow COmes’’ from a friend & boy oh boy....I did not regret it.I remember having read this book quite some time ago...but the second read was still the same. Absorbing & tautly written, Sheldon brings all his expertise to the forefront!!!

Like in any other book, the story starts off with a picture perfect Tracy Whitney, our main protagonist in the book. She has what we would term a perfect life...a banking job, a handsome boyfriend, not to mention a child on the way.Just when we are getting used to the pace of the book, the author spins a murder for which Tracy is convicted. She breathes revenge & starts plotting her escape from Prison.A couple of failed attempts & finally she is let out on parole, albeit ironically.

The second phase in her life starts when the society refuses to acknowledge her return into the mainstream. She plots the downfall of the motley crew who got her into prison. Each one, a different motive & an even better imaginative script.Take a bow Mr.Sheldon!!!

Fate then hands her over to another con artist a.k.a Jeff Stevens. What follows is a series of heists where both try to upstage the other....yeah, inevitably they fall in love!!!!

What keep the story moving is Sheldon’s near perfect characterisations & deep understanding of the human pshyche..Each felony just ends up unravelling the entire spectrum of human traits from love to greed to ego to one-upmanship.

It will indeed be a difficult ask for Sheldon to live up to the readers’ expectations in his other books.

Happy Reading!!!
