Very Very Lousy Service

I had purchased IFB microwave 30SC1 about an year back. I have decided on IFB, because of its trusted brand name and excellent service support. But to my surprise, my experience is just the opposite. Infact the reason I am writing this review is to make every body aware that how lousy the IFB products are and how stupid is the service which is going to follow.


It started malfunctioning after the warrenty of the product expires which is once it is more then a year old. The horrible experiance started when I called up IFB Service Helpline @ 1860 425 5678 and logged a complain (Complain no 1223252). One week passed no body bothered to attend. After much pleading with the customer care, they gave me the number of one Anjan Reddy in bangalore and asked me to co ordinate directly. After calling atleast 5 times I managed to get one engineer visited my place to see the oven. I make out that the engineer has all the knowledge except microwave and IFB has done an wonderful job of outsourcing the service to such a vendor who are well (ill)knowledgeable.


These situation repeated 3 times and I was told finally that there is no spare part available from the company, so only solution suggested to me is to pray  GOD every morning that Company should ship the spare part as cases for similar problem has been logged and pending for more then 6 months, mine is ONLY 1 MONTH OLD.


So the situation is that I have bought a microwave which is just an year old investing almost 10K is lying lifeless in my kitchen.


My suggestion is go for better brands like LG and Samsung. I had earlier experiance with them and their products are backed by excellent service network. Atleast they have a presence in the market, unlike IFB. IFB is losing ground steadily and it is evident from the quality of products and service what they are offering to the customer. Atleast I am thankful that I did not invest in any other IFB products and made a wise decesion to take other brand for washing machine etc.

On top of that I need to add a little. The company becames so ignorant that they simply turned an blind eye to the complaints which I have registared on the IFB website. Actually you can also log complain on the IFB website about any products. So far I have logged 3 complaint on the web site apart from logging an official complain with the call center, its been more then 1 month now, I have not received any single communication. So once can imagine what is the kind of support and service expected. None of the spare part is being available and I have known people who are waiting for 3-4 months for spare parts to be replaced. I myself is now waiting for almost 2 months for the board which needs to be replaced. My suggestion is dont EVER go for this lousy service. Consumers cant be fooled anymore. I am also circulating the same message to all my contacts.
