The updates to the review are at the end.
We bought our first microwave.the IFB 25 litres in 2006. It has microwave, grill and convection. We bought it after consulting a few friends and family. It was the first time that me and my wife were using a microwave! So it was only after the first month that we started to use it.
But today, it has become an integral part of our life. It began with just reheating food. which it does superbly; saves on gas and food is definitely fresher!
Slowly we started experimenting with the microwave and today we make everything from pulao, sambhar, palak paneer, tandoori aloo, and lots more! It also cooks non veg(chicken) very fast! And yes food tastes as well as when cooked on gas.though the taste is definitely different!
Coming to the looks, it looks stylish enough to make you proud to own one. And its quite easy to clean and maintain.
Thankfully till now we never faced any problem with the microwave, touchwood, so wont be able to tell much about their after sales service!
In the end, I would definitely suggest this to everybody. The size is also enough. Not too small or too large. Have a nice time cooking!
FIRST NEED FOR SERVICING in November 2009
First of all thanks to everybody for going through the review. Hope it was useful. Well in November the bulb fused and I was a really worried man since I had heard a lot about poor service. I went online(https://ifbindustries.com/) and called on the service helpline number. The complaint was registered and they said I would be contacted next day. 2 days passed and nobody came. So then I got the local numbers and called them( a little harshly). Well that did the job and we got a serviceman the very next day! But then since he had not brought any bulb it got fixed the next day. So though it was not a very smooth process, I was so terrified initially that I was a very happy man after the service and now I have the local dealers number and the servicemans mobile number too! But because of the hassles I am reducing the service rating. The product is still doing good duty.touch-wood.
SECOND NEED FOR SERVICING in November 2010
Need for a second service. Happy that I have the service mans mobile number and local service number. Shock. cause the serviceman has left the job for greener pastures, local service- a lady picks up but seems disinterested and the biggest shock.their national number(which can be used from mobiles) is TEMPORARILY DISABLED!
What do I do now?
