Please read the letter that I wrote to the IFB customer service to know my story! "Hello Team, I purchased an IFB microwave oven(Model No: IFB MWO C 25SC3) on July 6, 2014 at a Reliance Digital outlet in Secunderabad for Rs. 13, 410.25(payment via credit card). The product was delivered to me on July 7, 2014 by Reliance Digital. I DID NOT open the seal and waited for the IFB service engineer to come and open it when he/she gave the demo.
On July 12, 2014, Praveen(Mobile:9705871604), an IFB service engineer came to my residence to give me a demo. When he opened the seal and got the microwave out of the box, I noticed that the machine was damaged at one of the hinges(top left) of the door. The door was also shaky and loose at that point. I immediately informed him about it and asked him for a replacement! He called his superior, Vignesh(Mobile: 9346208926) and asked me to speak to him. My wife and I narrated the scenario to Vignesh and asked him for a replacement. However, Vignesh spoke to us very rudely and told us that he is only able to repair/replace the door and that we were not eligible for a replacement. I was really shocked by his response! I then reasoned with Vignesh saying that I did not open the seal and that it was opened by an IFB service engineer(Praveen).
Also, since it was a damaged product at delivery, I should be eligible for a replacement. Even then he would simply not agree; he went to the extent of saying that he would like to personally come to my place and inspect the product. I then told him to speak to Praveen(who was still waiting) and ask him to inspect the product. It looked as if we were liars! Finally, after a lot of begging, Praveen took some pictures left. Vignesh then informed us that he would have to get an approval for the replacement and he was not sure of it. On July 15, 2014 he informed us that our replacement was approved.
On July 16, 2014, around 7:00 PM, the replacement arrived at my residence. On inspection, I found out that the product was not a sealed one. The seal was broken and it appeared tampered! I did not take delivery and immediately asked him to take it back; I also immediately called Vignesh and informed him about it. Since then I have still not received any response from IFB about my replacement. I called the toll free number(18604255678) several times - spoke to Naveen, then supervisor Anthony. They gave me the phone number of a senior manager, Stephen Augustine whom I called 25 time with no response! I request you to kindly look into the matter and provide a genuine replacement speedily."
