Bought this Washing machine directly from IFB Showroom, Whitefield, Bangalore in 2009. I went to Chroma and saw this machine, and then ordered it directly from IFB Showroom as I know that products bought from showroom are genuine though it cost few thousand bucks more. The marketing executive asked me to wait for 5 days, as they were launching Elene-DX which is an upgraded version of Elena. After 5 days the Machine got Delivered. Cash on Delivery.
The next day the IFB customer care called and fixed an appointment for IFB engineer who gave me a demo and I was satisfied with all the details he gave. He tried to sell some products (Henko Powder + Protector) which I didn’t buy.Till date I have not faced any issue with my Washing machine.
I was using Henko, but moved to "Surf Excel Matic - Front Load" which cost MRP 425 for 2 kg (date: Aug 2012). You can get this more cheaper in malls.
Clothes are in good condition after washing. My 3 years old T-shirts still looks new. Though it is cleans the dirt, but nothing like hand-wash. You can use Vanish + Surf Excel which does the trick and keep the clothes clean. After 3 years, I went via the reviews of IFB and am shocked, but I believe the customer service now days are really bad. I wanted to get Descaler Powder for which I called IFB customer care. They gave me the details, took my contact details, and told that an engineer will visit the place with the powder and will help you in using the powder. The lady was polite and gave me the reference number and asked to now get in touch with the Bangalore IFB service center for any issue. She did say that the Powder will only be available @ the Service Center.
1 week - no call. I call the IFB service center in Bangalore, and I get the reply that the engineer would be sent.
1 month - No call.
While I was travelling I saw an IFB showroom in Kormangala (200 meter from Star Bazar), hopped in and asked if they have the powder. They had it. Wow !! They explained me on how to use the powder and asked me to pay Rs. 150 as cash. I came to know that the Powder can be got from the Service Center or any IFB showrooms.
I am happy with the Product, but really the customer service has gone bad and this is big -ve for the company in future. Hope they get their customer service fixed.
