My experiences with IFB are a Back Comedy and would be amusing had I not been the main protagonist. The No. 1 in the picture stands for No One should be foolish enough to buy this machine and if you have you are a Fool No. 1
Purchased in 2001 my machine has not been trouble free from day one. No wonder they give an initial two year free warranty. Now I quote their service engineer ad nauseamIts four years old now madam, you must expect problems.
Since the birth of my second son the machine usage has increased in arithmetic progression and the visit of the service engineers in geometric .First the drum bracket and bearings wear off.Bearings; understandablebut a bracket wearing off? The engineer is more interested in selling descalers, and soap powders and service contract than in actually repairing the machine.
Next, the door lock gets jammed and has to be broken open. The same service engineer repairs it and taunts me bola tha na service contract nikalo Repairs it . I assume the child safety lock works and do not try opening the machine when it is running.By sheer co incidence I notice my maid opening the machine immediately after the cycle is over and having no faith in the service centre directly complain on the net this time hoping for better service.
The same rude service engineer returns and once again is more interested in forcing me to buy the service contract blatantly telling me problems will otherwise persist.
Hoping against hope that I had seen the last of him I coldly show him the door but no such luck.
A month or so ago they advertised a free service week and 5% off on spares. Fortunately or Unfortunately the machines level switch had now conked off at that very time so complained again. Knowing the fitrat of the Bombay service centre I was expecting no response till the free week was over so to cover my back every day I called the toll free no. as well as left a complain on the net.
After the free week is over I get a call from the service centre that an engineer would come and I would have to pay.I refused to pay and informed them that since the whole week I had already left a complain on the net stating that the Bombay service centre would most certainly be doing this and that was precisely why my complain was not being attended toThis got me a free service as IFB officials in Bombay had themselves confirmed this for me and also got me a spare at the 5% discount. The actual saga of how I managed that would be longer than the Illiad but I Fought for my rights
My sincere advice Need a washing machine buy Siemens. If you are stuck with IFB my condolences.
