Ignited Minds.. Missiles??

Last week my mom gave me final warning that if I don’t clean up the mess of comic books in my bedroom, she’ll sell them off to the raddiwala!! So, I ’’cleaned’’ the ’’mess’’, and underneath the heap of comics, I found Ignited Minds by our President

With a hope that it will motivate me or inspire me, I started reading the book. The first line on the first page was quite impressive.

Dream, Dream, Dream,

Dreams transform into thoughts,

And thoughts result in action.

He cites about his escape from the helicopter crash on 30th September, 2003, and the dream he had on that day. In his dream he sees Mahatma Gandhi, Albert Einstein, Emperor Asoka, Abraham Lincoln and Caliph Omar(???) Anyways, so he wants peace and he wants spirituality to be integrated with education.

In the following chapters, he writes about his conversation with the children he addressed in various school of different cities. According to him, the imagination of young children hold answer to many problems...and so, he tries to communicate with them as much as possible. He has also dedicated this book to a girl from Anand, a town in Gujarat, who says the biggest enemy of our nation is poverty.

Honestly speaking, I understood the gist of the book only because of the summary given at the end of every chapter, because, going through the chapters I had a feeling that I have read it somewhere, and it was in Wings of Fire. Mr. President’s autobiography!! So you see, while reading the book, you don’t really feel inspired or motivated, but you feel amazed on missile technologies!!!

My favourite part of the book is the last chapter...Why?? Because, firstly, he doesn’t talk about missiles, which confuse you.. but he poses really good questions and thoughts to ponder over.. He dreams of a literate and poverty-free India, a noble leader to lead us(me too!!)!!

And, secondly, his ’’India can do it!’’ approach! We have everything.. all we lack is vision! And that is so true!! But I would have appreciated if he would have written the book in such a manner that everyone could understand!! I mean, not everyone understands such jargons... Simpler language could have made a difference!
