I wish to bring forth some of the efforts being put in by the management of IILM Gurgaon in trying to improve the placements for its graduates. The group has placement experts placed at Lodhi Road Delhi, who in consultation with management chalks out a programme for all the linked institute. I have conducted pre-placement training at both the institutes ie; Gurgaon and Lodhi road with varying results. Placements are entirely dependent on quality of graduates and Thier qualifications prior to the management course as also experience if any. I have found a great amount of difference in type and quality of students at these two institutes. Lodhi Road has metro smart, corporate fit students who do not shy away from self employment or becoming employers themselves. Gurgaon on the other hand have majority of students who are not fully corporate fit and not prepared for self employment. Intake patterns of these two institutes are poles apart. Gurgaon institute needs to control quality of intake to improve its student confidence and placements.
