Actually IITG is a very new institute hence some problems are going to be there , but this the only institute where you can play the role of an institute builder rather than a follower . This is actually the only institute where b.tech gets the importance it does(because of the low batch strength) . All the work is done by b.tech people so one kind of gets used to the responsibility and actually likes it . Because of the low batch strength there is a lot of interaction and you get to know a lot of people cutting across batch barriers . On of the concerns of people is the security in this region , but actually that is no problem at all , in fact people go out to visit other places nearby Guwahati . As compared to other iit’s it is obviously not that developed but it is developing pretty fast and for the next batch especially it shall be nearly equivalent to other iit’s .
