I went to see the movie seeing the action trailer on TV, thinking that it will be something in the line of matrix, and I knew that it was directed by Christopher Nolan, who is one of my favourite directors ... (Batman Begins and Dark Knight were exceptional).
I was expecting some pretty mean graphics and a solid storyline and the movie surpassed my expectations ... the movie is about imagination and creation, in dreams anything is possible, and in the movie an explational is given for everything that happens in the dreams like the effect real sounds have on our dreams ... the vague feeling of remembering the dream but not able to remember exactly what it was .... it was presented very well and why not? I read somewhere that the movie was in the making for 12 years, at least the script was ... some parts of the story were implausable like the part where the people share dreams just by being connected by tubes which pumped chemicals but as it is about imagination so such details can be overlooked ... the story was quite complex, there was 4 levels of the dream and so 4 levels of different types of action, the action was something which was on par with the first Matrix movie, though different but I dont know why it reminded me of matrix, probably because of the slow motion sequences, and sometimes I got confused about exactly which level and in whose dream they were, even when the dream was over I was asking the question was the dream really over, which is real and which is dream.
It was a movie which has many layers ... and the scene where leo was teaching how to build in dreams was awesome, particularly when the girl inverts a whole block of the city and joins the rooftoops one above the other .... it was a powerful scene ... and made good use of FX ... the thing I liked most is that nobody dies in the end :) the hero returns safely to his family and the others get paid handsomely .... after all everyone loves a happy ending !!
