Animation at its best

I am not an avid or hardcore fan of Animation films. But, however I decided to try out this one film to check out the advancement in the Animation industry as well as to ascertain that Animation is not something just for kids but for grown ups as well.

Incredibles 2 is a superhero animation film directed by Brad Bird.It is produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. This film is a sequel to The Incredibles(2004).

Plot:-

I would basically highlight the important points or synopsis of this movie.

A family of Superheroes, Bob the Father(aka Mr Incredible who possesses super strength), Helen the Mother(Elastigirl possessing super elastic properties), Violet(their eldest child who can become invisible and project force fields) and Dash(their elder son who has superhuman speed) is currently on a mission to save a city named Metroville from a deadly supervillain named the Underminer who attempts to rob its City Hall.Their quick action with the help of another Superhero named Lucius, saves the city from the Underminer, who escapes with stolen bank money.

The government, concerned by the collateral damage done to the city blames the Superheroes for the ordeal and decides to stop any kind of financial assistance to them, which leaves them jobless and discouraged. They also have a younger son, Jack-Jack, who possesses intense superhero abilities which the family recognizes later. They share their qualms with each other when Lucius informs Helen and Bob about an offer from Winston Deavor, the owner of Devtech, a telecommunications corporation. He along with his sister Evelyn choose to use Devtech as a medium to publicise and regain the trust of the Superheroes among the public.

All geared up, the Superheroes are now on a mission to save the world from a deadly Supervillain named the Screen slayer who uses hypnotic images to disrupt, paralyse and destroy daily life. Helen regain her identity as Elastigirl, to track and nab the Screenslayer. She nabs a pizza delivery guy whom she assumes to be the Screenslayer only to realise that he was only manipulated by the real Screenslayer.

Winston organises a party attended by World Leaders aboard his luxury ship, celebrating the Screenslayer’s arrest, in a bid to legalize superheroes. Helen then realizes that she has been controlled by a pair of mind control goggles.Evelyn then traps and captures Helen and reveals herself as the real Screenslayer. Her reason behind this is her immense hatred for Superheroes since they failed to protect their father from being killed by burglars.

What follows is a quest for Helen and other Superheroes to stop Evelyn from her evil intentions of causing mayhem and destruction to both Superheroes and the World and reign Supreme.

Voice Cast:-

Being an animation film, the film had an ensemble voice cast such as Craig, T.Nelson, Holly Hunter, Samuel L Jackson, besides others.

Animation:-

Pixar Studios undertook the animation employed in this film, including the VFX which were quite different from the regular cartoon animation one would come across as it gave a quite detailed description of the environment surrounding the characters such as the contents of a regular household, buildings, trains, city roads, cars, luxury cruise ship, etc. As per sources, Pixar used physically based human eye models for the characters, even though their eyes are larger and more stylized. The use of sculpting tools was done during a post animation phase to enhance clarity and creativity. In the case of the Elastigirl sequences, new methods were used in order to show her stretching abilities.

Direction:-

The film was directed by Brad Bird and is a sequel to The Incredibles(2004).

Overview:-

Incredibles 2 being an animation film, does sound like a kids entertainment zone, but no doubt due to the interesting script and animation, makes it a good dose of entertainment to adults of any age as well.
