Incredimail will be one of the additions to my list of ’’Must Try’’ softwares. The reasons are many fold and I shall enlist the features that differentiates Incredimail with other mail softwares.
First and foremost is the easy usability of the software. On first looks I felt that the developers have taken the skin of OE and on top of it added a highly user friendly way of interacting with the ultimate user.
Secondly, one of the main issues about the OE and Microsoft Outlook is that they cannot be run in the background and clutter your tool bar. But Incredimail creates a TRAY icon and the main programme will run in the background. To illustrate this .... consider MSN Messenger. Once you have logged on to it, the contacts window opens & even if you close the window, the MSN messenger works in the background. INcredimail works like that. But in case of Eudora and other mail softwares including OE, the minute you close the window, you are signed out.
Notfiers and other peripherals: How do you know when a mail arrives in OE? A sign flashes in the tray. In Incredimail, they have an assortment of NOTIFIERS. This ranges from a Envelope to animals delivering mail to you. This is lot more fun. One can dowload lots of these from the web site.
Tray Usage makes the opening of the main Incredimail programme irrelevant at times. From the tray program, you can a) write new mails without opening the main programme b)Change notifiers and mail check timings c) configure options c)check for new mails.
Mails: Mailing friends have never been more fun. The letters , they come in various categories. A couple of them include Smileys, Art, Old Papers and each of these have their own fonts and sizes ... and you can set the letter option to random and hence a new design opens in every other mail. In addition to this the program also animates the arrival & departure of the mails.
Apart from all these perks, the system is also well maintained and the program though bulky is as efficient as the other mail softwares. I had problems configuring multiple message rules in OE. Whereas in Incredimail, I now have upto 12 message rules and they all are very efficient.
This software can also be used to create your own letters and notifiers but that costs around $30 while the one that I use is a free version. Hence try this one., if you are still not convinced, here comes the final clincher....
you can configure your own signature. There is a scratch pad like surface wherein you sign(using your mouse .... I found it quite easy to use) and that signature will be inserted by default in all letters ...
Isn’t that sufficient? ... but wait ....before you download, a set of precautions ...
The program takes time to load when you start it. Give it the benefit of doubt, as it has to load all animation and all those huge dll files .... I measured the time once ... Incredimail takes on an average 45 secs to open fully (32/52 being the extremes) and I think OE will take half that time
Many people will think this software that can even make you add a sound file & animations in the letter to be too flashy ...
