This particular Gas agency is known as the worst gas agency among all Indane agencies in Hyderabad. You ask other Indane gas agencies and they will tell you clearly that this is a very poorly managed agency. I got a feel of it first hand when I tried to migrate my gas connection from Indane Madhapur to Manikonda. Here is my experience so far:
I got my transfer document from Madhapur and submitted it along with ID and residence proof at Madhavi gas agency on 1st June’13. For the first 3 days, they just kept asking me to come back next day/next morning/next evening and so on without any clear answer. On 5th June’13 they finally told me that they had misplaced my documents. They asked me to get the TTV number which is given to any transfer request from the previous agency. I had to travel 14 Kilometers to the previous gas agency to get the TTV number since they do not provide it over phone. Finally on 6th Jun’13 I got the TTV number and went again to Madhavi gas agency, and here when they were processing my form, they finally said that they had found my documents. So, my travel to the previous gas agency was actually a waste. the employee who was uploading my details on their database told me that I could book a gas cylinder as soon as my form was signed by the lady heading the agency. they finally processed my form and asked the agency head to sign it to complete the transfer process. this should have been the end of my ordeal. it was not.
This lady refused to sign the document saying that there was no electricity/light in the office. this is false since they have inverter backup in the office which was used hardly 5 mins back. but she seemed to have made up her mind to not sign my document. she asked me to come back to the office on 7th June’13 when she will sign the document. when I pressed harder stating that it was my 5th visit to the agency in 6 days, she just said "this kind of thing happens" and that "I am too tired now and want to go home". I have still not been able to digest this answer and believe that only a government agency could talk like this to a customer.
when they collected my document, they did not give me the "Know your Customer" form and remembered about it only after they had misplaced my documents.
They never told me that they required bank statement and photograph as a part of the transfer process along with the other documents. However, I am sure they would not have uploaded my details if I would not have carried my bank account details.
Apart from the un-professionalism of this agency, I am greatly disappointed in the way this agency head has handled my case.
few words about Indane:
the toll free customer complaint number on their site does not exist.
their site has been hacked by some Serbian dude and you can see the message on their login/registration page. I do not know what how safe is your login information in the hacker’s hands.
their servers are mostly down.
Tips to those who are going to deal with them:
Do not give them any document without taking a photocopy of it. Do not depend on the numbers listed against their name on google, there are no phones in the office so your calls will not be answered at all.
Do not deal with the lady who heads the agency, try to work with her husband and the other staff. She is foul mouthed and snobbish.
The staff is really really slow, I guess some of them cannot read English and so they struggle to find your forms in the bundle of forms.
No parking space so try to come on a two wheeler.
Be prepared for at least an hour in case you are there for name change/address change etc.
Indane servers are down most of the times and generally only come up in the evenings, so best time to visit them is between 5 and 7 PM.
