Independence Day: Resurgence is a sequel of the smash hit of 1996 the "Indepandence Day". While the basic plot is similar to the previous film, this time around, the alien queen gets into picture, making the enemies seem unbeatable. In times when superheroes have ruling the roost, Emmerich’s old school storytelling, buzzing with characters exuding boldness, is gripping, no matter how cheesy. Call it a consciousness effort; the characters display patriotic enthusiasm and overconfident heroism that manage to manipulate your mind. The special effects used for destruction scenes are spectacular and enhance the visual experience. The film also drags towards the end. We wish there was at least one iconic though.
