Independence day- Resurgence

INDEPENDENCE DAY- RESURGENCE.

In the history of mankind, there are only two divine super powers who have saved the Earth from all the evil forces of the universe. In the ancient times it was the team of Indian Gods who had the entire universe under their control and they saved the earthlings numerous times, and in the modern era , it is USA and the U.S President who stand as the saviour of the mankind and fight off the aliens and all the natural calamities, even the 2012 apocalypse.

Roland Emmerich ran out of ideas with the sequel to one of the most popular commercial cinema and to my surprise has already planned another sequel.

Compared to part 1, Resurgence is less of action, less of parallel running stories, less of excitement and doesn’t keep the viewer on the edge of their seats. But it is not a bad film by any means, it is simply weaker in script and action compared to it’s prequel.

Ironically, the enemy aliens return as a much mightier force but are also a bit dumber this time. Even Chuck Norris could have beaten the hell out of them.

The new generation of heroes fall flat as their characters were poorly etched, the heroes from the prequel are the saving grace and I hope that the young generation of heroes get matured enough to fight the aliens again in part 3.

Overall an average film, definitely a one time watch, the kids will like it.
