Though I have recently read a good number of books but the most favourite one is INDIA 2020 by A.P.J Abdul Kalam.It is a book of different kind. Let me explain in short the reason of my selection.The book was first published in 1998.
Logical thought a simple and clear style and healthy dose of optimism characterize this book by Kalaam, the scientist who has become house hold name.In this extraordinary book Kalaam lays bare his visions of the future of india and argues the country can be one of the world’s top five economic powers in the next 20 years.Kalam and Y.S.Rajan a scientist of the ISRO are the joint authors of this book.Since both Kalam and Rajan are men with impressive scientific backgrounds one can be sure that they are not building castles in the air.The authors speak with conviction:- ’’ A developed India by 2020 or even earlier is not a dream.It need not even be a mere aspiraton in the minds of many Indians.It is a mission we can all take up and accomplish.’’ Perfectly arranged data, logically deducted arguements and the sincere wish to transform India into a developed nation are the strength of the book.Like the ten year of old girl referred to in the book, let all of us desire :-- ’’ I want to live in developed India’’. This book is actually the result of the programme called VISION FOR INDIA TILL 2020.Can India become a developed country?The authors provide their answer through innumberable instances drawn from past.And it is time its citizens begin working for it.The book explorers to show the immense possibilities of growth .The book’s success lies in the sincearity of the authors whose aims is to inspire ’’YOUNG MINDS’’.
