23 May 2020 Amidst Carona lockdown, I feel betrayed
I’m 27 years old.
Many times I have seen the vegetable vendors
Throwing away leafy vegetables, vegetables
On the road, after the market is over
We can’t bargain
They wont decrease a single penny
The price is what they have decided
Being proud Indian
I feel betrayed
When the same farmers
Get exemption on taxes every year
When they burn the rice wheat on roads
When they throw away onions tomatoes
Being a proud indian
I feel betrayed
Among this lockdown
When Trump gave money to every individual
When Boris Johnson did
And Modiji played tricks by announcing lumpsome.
I was betrayed all the time when all my classmates
Got their fee in scholarship from Government
And I was paying fee, and many others
Because of the religion and caste bias.
When Modi has announced 10000 to those
Autowalas who never run on meter
Who never follow rules
Who has always looted me, us
"Thanks to uber and ola"
And I’m being paid none
And many a times
A proud indian like me was betrayed
Is betrayed being betrayed
Hopefully, soon I have to do justice
To myself if not to others.
