Overpopulation MUST STOP!

I have always wanted to visit India and hope some day I can do so. But the number of people living there scares me. A billion people crammed into that one place? (!!!) I could cry just thinking about it.

It is high time individuals starting taking responsibility for their actions. The Indian government must also take drastic steps to curb large families. Yes, I know many, for religious reasons, take offense at the kinds of measures -- such as family planning -- that are necessary for curbing the population explosion. Presently, Indian culture appears only to encourage more children. The Indian people, the Indian government, and everyone else just stands and watches. But why? The entire human race, and all of the Earth’s creatures, are threatened. Overpopulation is environmentally disastrous, and people unnecessarily starve or go without basic sanitation or health care. One idea is to impose a tax upon each child beyond two that a family bears. (And the limit would be for male OR female -- the Indian culture needs to stop being so inanely sexist. Women are just as talented as men.) Further, all schools should be required to teach students that it is environmentally destructive, selfish and risky for a family to have lots of kids. Some other steps to take can be found at: https://overpopulation.org/ and other web pages.

I am glad to see India and China are increasing the standard of living for at least some segments of the population -- due in no small part to American consumerism. I greatly fear, however, that improvements in environmental protection and slowing population growth rates will not be fast enough to avert what I see as a certain DOOM for all of us, just because some people want to make selfish and ignorant decisions.

Sorry, just a rant but I don’t know where else to go and I honestly fear for the future of our planet.
