India.when I think of India what comes to my mind.family
politics, saas bhi kabhi bahu thi, Aishwara rai, railway stations and lots of
autorickshaws.
I sometimes feel sad at the plight of not the roads and and the
infrastructure, but I feel sad about the mentality with which Indians
are raised. To write a review I think I should be honest and
truthful to my feelings to the subject of this review.
I was born in India and spent the toddler years of my child hood in
India.I still love the fragrant smell of the soil as it first mixes
with rain and my heart still thrills with joy as I see the shoots
bursting out of the ground and turning into a gorgeous plant, green
and fresh and so promisingly beautiful.
I even like the caw caw, baritone and monotonous sound of the crow .
"
Ah listen, the crow is cawing. Looks like we will have a visitor today.
The crow has been cawing all day".my grand mother used to say.
The mangoes, the juicy sweet, utterly delecious mangoes of the monsoon
season.where else in the world would you find them but in India.
The very first bite you take and feel as if already in heaven and
beyond.
I still remember my walks in the moon lit nights under the gulmohar
trees, with the raat ki rani and chameli fragarances intoxicating the
night breeze and putting you in a dream like trance.
The soft gentle breeze carrying these fragrances almost make you feel
like in a magical land where there cannot be any evil, any pain and any
sorrow. How beautiful are those moments and how wonderful the thoughts!
But reallly, is the life in India truly as magical and as wonderful as I have stated above.
I watched, Rang de basanti, and I cried in the end. Because the
movie spoke such blatant truth, and such honest views were expressed. I
cried for a society that is so hard to change and fora goverment that
makes it impossible to change.
SO many of the Indians are craving to work and live abroad and never
return to this heavenly place which is so rich in its fuana and
flora.
Forget about the flora, have u tasted the Indian food? From the chats
in karol baghsRoshand di kulfi, to theGolconda chimney of
Bangalore;from the dosas and uttapams of madras to the pau bhaji and
vindaloos of Maharahstra. Have u ever tasted the Indian Chinese food in
comprison to the original CHinese food?
Be it, Chinese, mexican, Italian, You name it, the way Indians cook
any food is mouthwatering. I mean just writng this makes me want to
have a midnight snack!
I have always loved India for its food, its natural beauty, its
climate, its yummy fruits, but sadly not so much for its people. I am
not saying that I hate Indians but I feel sad to say that we Indians
are so caught up trying to copy the other so calledadvanced
countries that we have forgotten our own instrinsic values and
culture. WE have even some of us forgotten our roots.
Such a lot of emphasis is laid on music and dance shows that parents
tell their children, " learn to sing sonny, u can become Indian
Idol one day when u grow up." Then you get a flat, a car and a
crore rupee contract.
What has happened to our Indians sports? Why arent we doing well?
Where is the motivation and hte drive gone? What has happened to our
fashion and televison industries.? Are these the only fields through
which the west and the rest of the world can recognize us?
Why are we so bent on copying the west for just their dirty language and their dating games?
Why are we so intimidated by them? Why has the jeans and clingy
t-shirt on teenage girls replaced the modest Indian shalwar kamees? Why
does a girl who goes to college wearing salwar kammez labelled as
desi? Why is hteir such an inferiorit complex associated with being truly Indian?
WHy are we so fake and why are we leaving our roots behind?
Questions, questions and questions. my mind is only filled owth unanswered questions when I think of Indian people.
Can anybody answer them for me?
