A balanced view (some history also revisited)

I’ll spare you my pride for the armed forces (which I do have) because everyone else has already shown it on my behalf.

We are all sitting there on our comfy seats ( I’m on a sofa, haha!) and arrogantly making predictions of whats its like for the soldiers out there. I know a handful of you have actually been in the army and are writing this, this is not directed to you.

I don’t think being a soldier is so much different from a normal job. Instead of facing mental difficulties, which many people take their own life for, these people have physical difficulties. No, I haven’t been shot, or slept in freezing cold for days, I am assuming through experience which I have acquired trough 17 yrs of my life. Two of my uncles(related) were in the military and I have spoken to others also.

After listening to their stories of military, I am writing this. ’’When a soldier wakes up in the morning he does not think what a great duty he is doing to his country, he treats it like we would our job.’’

What sweediv said appaled me, quote “its a SHAME to know that in today’s world apart from other country’s, my country INDIA doesn’t have much youth especially young men... respecting the strength of the forces whether army, navy or air force..... the youth more attracted to IT and MBA, don’t want to risk their life joining the former, but yes will adjudicate the people involved whether in a good way or bad..... so we remain with a country with only ADJUDICATORS and no WARRIORS.....”

There are over 1 million soldiers in the army, it does not need more, what it needs is machinery, not people! “mur11”(read his review) should have been born in china or Singapore where every youth does go through military training, to what expense!!, their education!, 2 years of their life wasted, thank god India does not have such a system.

As for our youth wanting to do IT and MBA, they are the ones which have made this country great. Think about it for a second, these young highly educated people contribute to the economy which then we can buy weapons with, would you like them to join the army and have them go to waste?! These youth have worked day and night to achieve their grades, I give credit to you all!

If the British had not separated India into two we would not have an enemy on every single border. India had lived thousands of years with many religions living together, it could have done so another thousand years. They have caused hundreds of thousands of people to die. But that was the past…

This is the present… we must make India a great country by educating ourselves to the fullest potential, with one-billion plus educated indivsuals none would be able to stop India becoming a superpower.

I whole heartedly thank all uncles-ji’s who have perished for the protection of the next generation of Indians, may we never need to fight a war, but if it comes down to it, I will join my brothers on the border to sacrifice another precious life for future Indians like our elders had done for us.
