Much has been talked about the Indian Cricket Team poor performance in the World Cup and much has been criticised about the fans too for reacting so shrudly. But isnt that correct ? Isnt our cricket team responsible for that ? Are they wrongly blamed ? I do not think so. Yes it is very sad and extreme that the fans shouldnt be taking the violence path afterall no one has right to hammer each other in the largest democratic country.
More than this the sad part is that though we have talent we are not putting it on the field. For example if you look at the body languages of the players especially Ganguly during the match with Australia, it looked as if they were waiting to go fingers up. After playing 200 odd ODIs you are trying to hook a WIDE BALL !!! That looks ridiculous.
The whole fact is our team has not done their home work properly. It was correctly said by Gavaskar after the match that they have not practiced at all. It was just that they go on the nets for the sake of just doing it in the morning and post that go for commercials, shopping and kill time.
Not even this, before the start of World Cup, our team has chosen Durban for practice which has the largest number of Indian fans asking for autographs and others. It is also the commercial capital wherein the players are engaged in some kind of shoots etc. Wasnt is should have been some other places wherein they could have only concentrated on the strategies to tackle the other teams and get a good practice on the net ? What is all this indicates to ?
We should be optimistic but at the same time we need to be practical too. Letz accept the fact of poor performances of our team in the last series with New Zealand and in the first two World Cup matches which looks to be continued. Be it be in batting or fielding or bowling.
Well still one has to be optimistic and which we are, we hope that our team will fight back and will make it to the next round. After all more than a billion wishes are with them.
All the best to them for the next match with Zimbabwe and for the rest of the tournament.
