’’Our Indian Team is a very good one-probably the best’’-- this is the comment after the recent tri-angular series comprising of Sri Lanka, India and England; in which India won the series.
We had a good start and a good ending- a victory. But, there were some things which are worth discussing.
In the World Cup - 2002, Oliver Kahn, the German goalkeeper and captain, who is known as the best goalkeeper in Europe, was given the best man of the World Cup -2002. But, he was not happy. The reason being that he had saved Germany in all the matches in the World Cup - 2002, but could not save it in the finals due to which Germany lost to Brazil. He said --:’’I am very sorry that due to me, we had to lose the finals’’. This is what a great person admits.
But when we see the finals of the tri-angular series, even though Sachin Tendulkar did not play well in the finals, there was No Apology or Regrets from his side and instead of praising the superstars Yuvraj singh, Mohammed Kaif, Virender Sehwag, Harbajan Singh and Saurav Ganguly, all that was focussed was on Sachin.
The final victory was won even in the bad playing of Sachin, but the problem was the Worst media attention focussing only.. I repeat only on Sachin.
I feel that, instead of always focussing on Senior players, it would be better if younger generation players are given the required attention.
