INDIA and CRICKET seems like synonyms, isin’t it, seeing the wide popularity of the game in the country.
But, then on the world level the team isin’t performing well. Take a look at the record of loosing 9th. final in a row!!!
But then all isin’t bad either. No matter we loose crucial matches, but still personal performance graph of Indian players sours high. Sachin and Ganguly opening pair has recently crossed the landmark of highest number of opener run accumulators and 16 times century partnerships too.
What lacks in the team is the lack of support from other players (especially bowlers).
Indian innings collapses as soon as the opening pair fails more often than not.
What I will like to suggest is that Sachin and Ganguly can experiment coming little bit down the order (like flower brothers of Zimbabwe) and may be this will boost the confidence of young players that the best is still to come and they can play their natural game. At the same time, opposite team will also wonder about there strategy once another opening pair (like VVS and Sehwag) strikes may be a ton, with both Sachin and Ganguly to come!!!
Well sounds too optimistic, but I think it is worth experimenting seeing the past record of collapses of Indian innings.
