If there was a voting system for Ms Universe I’m sure Sushmita Sen would be no where near that crown. It was’nt really shocking, but sad to see Ankita getting voted out...esp when we have seen real good female singers getting voted out ...esp when one would compare them to the ones who were still in.
Ankita Mishra, I thought was a bundle of energy. She always had to face opposition from her fellow contestants, but stood firmly on the ground. she always said that she was going to fight it out right till the end and so she did. If singing was the only criteria in Indian Idol then no one would be sponsoring their looks and outfits.
It amuses me that in a country like ours where we have such great female singers like Lata and Asha, its difficult for us to get a female Indian Idol. Its an irony that the third season will also see a guy...not that I have anything against guys...but yes if we have a Sushmita, a Sania, a Kalpana....why can’t we have a Female Indian Idol.
Javed Akhtar was right today when he said that we should definitely give this girl a chance ..esp looking at the confidence and volatile performance that she gives. However, breaking the confidence of one more girl is our country’s loss. But if we have this kind of spirit in all the girls then I’m sure not long before we see a female Indian Idol.
