I have watched Indian Idol 2 and thought the I wouldnt watch this program again for when Sandip Acharya who was no where comparable to NC Karunya if we see this as a singing talent contest, was voted as Indian Idol 2.
Sandip didnt have good singing talent. Even in finals he was "BeSur" but just he got support from his place and people woke up thru nights to vote him he won. I was really doubting whether any body except in Rajasthan bought his solo album released so far. On the other hand NC Karunya who sang many movie songs as well as releasing his own albums, didnt countless stageshows in US, Dubai and many places got standing ovation.
So what does this indian idol look for is it a singing talent or just Sony want to make money on ads and SMS’s.
But this time still got hooked to this program and found Sonu Nigam missing out of judges which was very bad. May be he quit of not able to digest good singers getting voted off. Farah Khan may be realised that judging singing is not her talent. And to my suprise see Alisha Shenoy, Zaved Aktar, Udit Narayan along with Anu Malik. And each time they give contrary judgement. All of these judges give comments which makes no sense other than Zaved Saab. Anu dont know what is upto him, Udit cannot find words and Alisha looks beauty than singing. Her comments mostly are related to looks than singings.
Hosts - Mini Mathur and Hussain - Mini doesnt have a proper dress sense, somebody already pointed that. Hussain thinks he is next shahrukh khan on the block. THey try to do the best.
Now coming to singers, are we loooking these singers as future play back singers? Most of them are not really talented. They cannot accept their mistakes and come back with the corrections judges make. And once again I see someone who cannot sing become an indian idol just because he gets votes and good singers lose against them. I would like to see Amit Paul, Emon, Deepali in top three, but deepali is distracted, not singing better past two weeks. May be Abhishek can take deepali’s place.
