AMIT SANA KO NAHI MILA KOI GAANA.’’
Taking Inspiration from American Idols, One year ago SONY TV launched a reality show ’’INDIAN IDOL’’ with a Tagline’’Sab kuch Boola de’’(including your cellphone balance).Now, a year after they have again come back.
Firstly, What is Indian Idol, if u ask this question to a cute gal of 10 years, she may say’’Indian idol rocks, there are many didis and Bhaiyas sitting and they sing to win the first prize, its Breath-taking and Superb, I love it’’.But my answer is not the same, Actually Indian idol is a well thought out Business Technique, to earn a lot of money, to boost TRP ratings on the name of Reality show(Dont behave like Undertaker, just read my review to know more)
THE AUDITIONS:
The Auditions were conducted in many cites including Bombay, Delhi, calcutta etc.You just need to register by paying 50 rs(Business technique, read further) and the Judges will take auditions and will pick some and Insult others and make them cry and Make them feel that they are good for Nothing(What are the Judges good for, I m telling this because I have seen lot of people getting Insulted by them, I m nt drunk)
THE JUDGES:
Taking Judges thing into consideration, My first question is why SONY INDIA LTD ignored Legendary Singers like lATA MANGESHKAR, UDIT NARAYAN, KUMAR SANU, AMIT KUMAR, ASHA BHOSLE AND many more.Arent they capable enough to judge people, Anyways lets talk about 3 Judges.
FARAH KHAN:I just dont understand why a Choreographer is selected as a judge for selecting a singer, it just doesnt makes sence.(not to me atleast)
SONU NIGAM:Thankfully, Sonu nigam has some Knowledge about singing, but why is he so raw and rude?, Hello Sir, you are a Judge in a Program, you are not Acting in a SANJAY GUPTA’S latest flick(oh my god his acting career).I agree that if you are a great singer and if you listen someone singing in a very unmelodious manner, you can get angry but no one gives yo right to insult someone, Sony tv is not paying you for Insulting people and everybody is not perfect, If Jasmine(MS manager) cant be Sonu nigam then sonu nigam also cant be Jasmine.(From bottom of my heart I thank sony tv, for paying sonu nigam in Indian idol 1, so that he was able to cut his hair)
ANU MALIK:There is no doubt that he is one of the finest composers, we have in our country.He is the only saving grace in Judges department, He is not very rude and he is likeable as Judge.
THE SIDEKICKERS(The hosts)
AMAN VERMA:Aman verma is strictly functional, he just doesnt puts any effort, he should go to previous job(ads of cleaning toilets, HARPIC:SUB KUCH BOOLA DE)
MINI:Mini looks very cute and does her part with ease and conviction.
THE SPONSORS(Business technique)
There are many sponsors involved in INDIAN IDOL2(Like the first part).Many companies like NOKIA(DIS-CONNECTING PEOPLE), ICICI BANK(HUM HAIN NA, to kya karu.Tum ho ya na ho HDFC hain na), AIRTEL(Express yourself-saale Indian idol aaya jab se balance nahi hai kya express karru).
To be honest, I dont have any problem if they have Sponsors, they should earn some revenues, they cant do it for social service but Advertising should’nt overpowers Talent, the viewer should’nt feel that its more of Ad-program than a reality show.
THE VOTING PROCESS(Business technique)
The voting process is very simple, yet expensive.You can vote for your favorite singer by voting him or her through a SMS(Short-message service not ’’Sardar Manmohan singh’’) or a call which will charge you 6 rs ONLY.My question is why is it so expensive? they might have charged 1-2 rs.Moreover, if they Really want the whole INDIA to vote, then also add ONLINE VOTING(like great indian laughter champions).I swear, then I ll vote atleast 100 per day but 6rs that to for a monkey.No I wont.
THE TALENT(Over powered by ads and hype)
The talent is very good, Indian idol has some great up-coming talent like sonu kakar etc but Ads and hype overpowered their talent(I pity them).
On the whole, Indian Idol may be a Outstanding or Mind-blowing experience for you, but for me it is a Well-crafted Business technique, and it is just to fill pockets and boost up trp’s.It may be copied from American idols or African idols, i dont care but its main concept to select the best singer is over-shaded by its hype, ads and producer’s Intention to make money.
