Education makes a people easy to lead, but difficult to drive; easy to govern, but impossible to enslave.
Graduation** is the most beautiful phase of anybody’s college life. I have done my graduation(BCA) from ZHI(Zakir Hussain Institute) Patna and hence it preserves my sweetest memory of college life. ZHI is a sister concern for IIBM Patna and campus for both the institutes are same. I joined this institute after a normal entrance test which was held at this campus only. Before joining BCA I had no background in any computer education and I was all set to go for engineering. My initial thought was to pursue BCA and same time continue preparation for IIT but lately I dropped my plan of IIT as I was too occupied with my BCA papers.
ZHI / IIBM is one of the most reputed Business Schools in Bihar and situated at the heart of the Patna. The most happening and rocking place of Patna, Maurya Lok is around 5 minutes walk from the campus and the world famous Patna Museum is located at just other side of front gate. If you wish to bunk any lecture, the Patna Museum or Maurya Lok could be the best place for roam around. Several hostels and PGs are available near by for out station students. Patna city and ZHI / IIBM could be the best suited institute for those who can’t afford a big cost for their management studies.
Education in Patna: It’s a city full of students from different streams. Few are preparing for IIT and other engineering colleges while few are preparing for medical entrance exams. Some aged students are preparing for IAS and PO exams and some aspirant business leaders are preparing for GRE, GMAT, CAT and MAT. In short you will find students from each and every stream of education here. There are numerous reasons for this trend. The accommodation and living cost of the city is very low and students from low or middle income group can also afford this. The atmosphere supports the education system here. You can easily find like minded student groups and you can start your group study. The standards of Teachers and Coaching institutes are very high and they don’t compromise with their quality.
Study in IIBM / ZHI: It’s one of the prominent Business Schools in entire East India. The infrastructure and the quality of faculties are not less than any other B-Schools in India. It also hosts the STPI(Software Technology Park of India) inside it’s campus. ZHI(Zakir Hussain Institute) is a sister concern for IIBM and is affiliated with several reputed universities of India. It offers lots of graduate and post graduate courses like BCA, BBA, MCA and MBA. Some other professional courses are also available like MJ(Master of Journalism) and MAMC(MA in Mass Communication).
My Memories @ ZHI: We used to attend our theory classes in IIBM and practical classes in ZHI. The distance between both the campuses is around 2-3 KM. Doing 2.5 years of class training and 6 months of live project was indeed an unforgettable journey for all of our batch mates. Institute had very tough processes regarding attendance but still few of used to bunk lectures and spend our time in museum, maurya lok, boring road or at ZHI tapri(a tea stall). Group studies before our semester exams were also very interesting as it was more fun and less study for us. We always planned to study and become serious about our academic but it never happened in those three years. But our jolly mood and stupid activities never let us down in exams as we used complete part of studies in time. We may say that it was 12th hour study for us. Now when we look back at our graduation days it surely puts a smile on our face and also a feeling that “Alas we could go back to our golden days”.
Alumni: The Alumni strength of IIBM and ZHI is very strong and they are working in many countries occupying several key positions. Unfortunately I couldn’t see any big Alumni meet by both of these schools but it may come in future as I can see the update Alumni section on their websites.
