On 22nd Sept 2019, I was traveling with my group of 8 people from Ratnagiri to Panvel on train no 22413. At the time of booking, we have been charged with meal cost as part of the ticket amount and veg meal was booked for all passengers, So will be the case for all passengers on the train who travelled upto Panvel
On the train when we requested for the food to be served as we were getting close to the destination, we were told that food is not available for passengers till Panvel, it is only available for passengers who travel beyond Panvel. This was repeated by waiters in coach B5, B6 & confirmed by waiter in B1.
However, as we got ready to get off the train at Panvel, the waiters started serving food. It just denoted that meals were available before the train reached Panvel. Smelling some scam here, I requested waiters of B5 for a photograph and a video statement that food was not available for passengers who travelled upto Panvel. When I put on the camera, they started saying that we can sit and have our dinner and they will serve it or they can pack us the food and give if we gave them plastic bags. This just meant that our food was there. I managed to get a video of waiters in B5. My husband demanded to see his I card. He started touching our feet and saying sorry.
However, it was too late, we have to leave the train and so did all other passengers upto Panvel on this train had already left.
No one picked up calls made to the available complaint numbers. Finally I could get thru to one of the number today and one Mr. Rizwan gave me a complaint no. But he was not ready to lodge the exact complaint. Just that I did not get food… this is not the complete truth
There is a scam happening here. They are not serving food to so many people every day. All the waiters and managers and people at IRCTC are hand in glove in this scam. How long has this scam been going on? On how many trains people are being scammed? So where does this food go? What are they doing with this extra meals on the train? The question is the minister hand in glove with the caterer to not bother? I am sure many before me must have complained.
I demand refund not only for my group, but all passengers on the train yesterday who got off at Panvel. I demand a public announcement of the action.
