Indian Oil CrediCard -(TITANIUM) - A perfect card

I have been penning around about a lot of products and services I use personally. I share my experience about them oniine her. I’ve been doing this since 2007.

Here I’m to share my experience with my Citibank provided Indian Oil - (TITANIUM ) Credit Card which is simply awesome.

I have my salary account in Citibank and Citi provided me with Titanium version of this card with 96000 initial credit limit. I am a simplicity lover and don’t spend much. Moreoever I have been susing HDFC Credit card (Now upgraded to Platinum Plus 0 Chip) since 2007. So I got my credit limit reduced to 36000 in my Citi card on special request. This happened in 2009. Somewhere in 2010 end, they increased my Credit Limit to 54000.

Its more than 3 years and belive me, not a single issue with this card. Credit goes on my way of spending and managing the transactions too, since this is where most of us miss out and start blaming Credit Card companies or banks for troubles.

I know what I spend,  how much I can afford spending, I do remember my outstanding amount and Rajeev_Vermacially, I have that backup money somewhere in FD or other bank accounts which I spend on cards. To be frank, I use credit cards just for the sake of using it. I honestly do not even need a credit card financially.

Citi has been courteous and has been doing business with professional ethics. No complaints about that. Even my Suvidha Salary Account with Citi runs well. They replaced my Debit card once free of cost as it stopped working on Citi ATM’s (though worked well on other banks ATM).

Once I lost my Citi Credit Card in September 2011. I don’t know how. I called up Citi care, reported the loss. They immediately blocked my crd after verification of the latest transactions on that card, to ensure that there are no misuses after the card went missing. They assured delivery of new credit card within a few days which actually came much earlier.

Perfect credit card.

My usages :

I topup mobiles, pay insurance bills, pay Broadband cum Landline bill, book rail tickers in IRCTC online and I do purchase vegetables and fruits @ Reliance Fresh now and then. These would have been my frequent merchants appearing on my bills.

Other expenses may be with Sumangali Jewellers, Avadi. Belive me I’m not a jewel or gold freak. I’m just accumulating gold gram by gram due to price hike as I have a 2 and a half year daghter.. :)

Addressal of issues by Citi

My credit card due date for payment was initially 28th of everymonth. And that was the day I used to get my salary too. It was smooth until my company changed policies and announced that we will be paid henceforth only on the last business day of the month, may be 30th or 31st. I immediately raised a requesr with Citi and my due date was moved to 1st of the subsequent month. I have exactly 24 hours to pay my bill. Once I receive my pay credited to my account, my first disbursal would be Citibank Card as that has the due date the next day. Then HDFC Card which has its due date on 4th and then the others.

Citi has been excellent in looking into any kind of issues I’ve ever raised with regards to my credit card.

Benefits (Reward Points):

Citi provides 1 reward point for every Rs. 150.00 spent anywhere other than Indian Oil petrol pumps, where I get 4 points instead of 1 for every Rs. 150.00 I fill my vehicle for. 1 reward point gives me Re. 1 worth fuel and as mine is a Titanium card, I can redeem a minimum of 200 reward points @ Indian Oil Petrol outlet for Rs. 200 worth petrol). I’ve never redeemed my points till now.

Its all how people manage their spends and payments, that decides how useful credit cards are. If need any advise/ suggestions / views about fund management, please let me know. I shall assist you.

Thanks

Kumar
