Recently I had to buy a DVD writer and since I did not have time to go shopping, I looked up and saw what I wanted on shopping.indiatimes.com (an LG DVD writer with IDE interface) and ordered the same. After a few days I am shipped the product and I see that they send me a wrong product (DVD writer with SATA interface), I think nothing of this and mail indiatimes saying there was a mismatch in order and delivery and awaited their response, it took them 4 days to revert and then they give me their vendor partners phone no. To contact. I contact the vendor (Smart Deal) and they say its not a problem and they would send me a converter and I accept the same, I wait for a week and I see no action and call the vendor again and he says he will dispatch in couple days and even this never gets done.
I then go back to indiatimes customer service and state that my product is lying unused and to help me out. it again takes 4 days for them to respond with one canned response, it is a huge mail that does not say anything to resolve my issue, I respond back asking for resolution.
I realized that none of the customer service people read your mails, they just send the same canned response that they sent earlier, only the executive’s name changes. I have received three such canned responses from the.
I have given up on any resolution from them. I have decided not to shop anymore from Indiatimes, I have also advised my friends to keep away. Apart from that I have stopped my subscription to Times of India at my 60 Offices across the country and of course my home.
IN EFFECT I NEED TO ADVICE PEOPLE TO KEEP AWAY FROM SHOPPING.INDIATIMES.COM, they wait for your money to be transferred and then you are taken for granted. BEWARE.
