This is going to be a complaint against the terrible, dishonest online shopping portal Indiatimes. I ordered a Nokia Lumia 520 phone from their website. It arrived looking alright but did not work. I immediately called Indiatimes and they directed me to a Nokia Care Centre. Not wanting to make the rounds of service centres the very first day of the receiving a new phone, I inquired about their exchange policy.
As per Indiatimess return/refund policy, they require a Dead On Arrival certificate to be issued by the manufacturer in order to replace the phone or refund the money. Nokia refused to issue such a certificate. They claimed they never issue this in any circumstances and Indiatimes should check its policy.
Nokia tried to repair the phone and got it going for an hour or so. Then, the phone shut down again and refused to switch on. By this time, I had heard from friends about this being a frequent complaint with Indiatimes. They apparently ship crappy products all the time.
I wanted a refund and wrote to Indiatimes threatening to go to Consumer Court if they didnt take the phone back immediately. They stalled for almost ten days, each day asking for 48 hours to respond! When I finally lost it and called Customer Care to yell at them, they called back saying they cannot do anything about it since I did not act within 48 hours!
All the delays were from their side and I have evidence to prove this. Now I am stuck with a terrible phone that will not work and Indiatimes has my money. I intend to lodge a complaint against them, Sad.
I implore readers of this review to stay away from this website.

Nikhil
