Should've read reviews before being hoodwinked

When you read famous names, you expect performance, right? I thought so too, only to have been proven wrong many times over. The latest is the name "INDIA TODAY". I guess I should’ve done a little digging at MouthShut before committing myself.

At the face of it, a very simple deal: a pair of Reebok shoes, otherwise priced at 2500/-, for just Rs. 999/-. Even if the 199/- postage charge was taken into account, it still seemed a good deal. Placed the order, and a week or so later, I had the parcel at my doorstep.

Opened the parcel to find that the shoes looked like nothing that I had ordered. Immediately called up the number. The customer care’executive’ first tried to argue the small print with me, before relenting and telling me to return the shoes. When I suggested that I could take them personally for replacement - Neb Sarai is after all quite close to my house - he panicked and said that the return should ONLY be to the Connaught Place office, which, strangely was not mentioned ANYWHERE on the delivery challan or even on the website.

12 days after delivery was confirmed to the Connaught Place office, I’m still to get the replacement pair.

The next time, I’ll take the trouble of going to some Reebok store and selecting the shoes myself.

CAVEAT EMPTOR.
