Having flown indigo a few times on the nagpur - kolkata sector, I am compelled to write this review. my experience has been pleasant and the journeys have been smooth, so all commendation to this low cost carrier.
the advantages of indigoing!:
it is a low cost carrier and nagpur - kolkata ticket(one way) if booked 15-30 days in advance would cost you somewhere between 1800 - 2200 bucks which is a/c II tier fare on a train for the same distance
the airbus 320s are new and in impeccable condition. no rattling of overbins(which happens many times on those old boeings) and absolutely smooth take offs and landings make your trip an enjoyable experience
the ground staff is courteous, the inflight crew too is efficient and reliable and topmost. always smiling!
the biggest factor of my endorsing this airline is its ontime punctuality. I never remember during last 20 years or so and im still talking about my limited sector of nagpur - kolkata, have the flights been so punctual. this is way beyond your expectations. imagine landing at your destination 5-10 minutes early than your estimated time of arrival! and it happened with me twice, full marks to this airline.
the aircrafts are new, clean and spacious enough and the single class configuration makes it even better.
you get online discounts of roughly 5% against the price quoted by travel agent, so you save money booking directly on the airlines website.
you can choose your own seat on your online bookings, which is wonderfull.
luggage allowed per person is 20 kgs which is good
the diadvantages:
like other low cost airlines, no food or refreshments are served on board. but you can buy some snacks and beverages.
the silliest thing they need to improve is that they dont hand out toffees and cotton(to avoid sore ears - which I usually get) during take offs.
a great experience for fliers who want value for money and time other airlines learned a couple of lessons from INDIGO
YES, DEFINITELY INDIGO
