Experience of 3 flights (as of now)

Hi to all.

I was planning to go on a holiday last month but couldn’t find any flight cheap enough to fit my pockets. And then I landed upon Indigo. I wanted to go from Bangalore to Guwahati and return back. There was a setback here though. This being a new entrant, didn’t have fleets from few selected places and so I had to settle on Kolkata to Guwahati. For return flights, again as there was no direct route, I settled on Guwahati to Delhi and then Delhi to Bangalore.

I took a flight from Kolkata to Guwahati on 23rd September which I booked at quite decent a price compared to other low frills airlines. I reached the airport quite early. The queue for baggage check was a long one but on seeing that I am flying on Indigo I was straight away taken to the X-ray machine and soon got the baggage check done. The lady at the counter issued my boarding pass and I got rid of my heavy baggages. Another lovely Indigo lady wanted me to go through the security check then itself. I was also in a hurry while coming and so obliged. The flight was on time. This being my 1st Indigo flight, I found the seats somewhat uncomfortable. Also there was too less legroom. I asked one attendant(she was a beauty) if there were any other seats available with more legroom. She promised to get back once we take off, but later she was nowhere to be seen. I had to adjust. Once in air, two attendants came with the snacks and beverages sales. I was real hungry and was hoping for sandwiches or burgers but there were only cookies and soft drinks. Finally the flight landed Guwahati on time. After landing I discovered that the beautiful lady I talked to about the legroom was in fact a trainee (or such) along with three more of them.

On 7th October, I returned from Guwahati to Bangalore. I had earlier booked Indigo carriers from Guwahati to Delhi and Delhi to Guwahati, which was again quite handy on my pockets. However, I was late while reaching the Guwahati airport (thanks to the slow vehicle and the traffic) and there was only 5 mnts left for the 10:55AM departure. So the unwelcome lady at the counter said that I can’t board as I was too late. I asked her to please to do something(God knows what) and also explained that I have to catch another flight from Delhi in the evening. But she was helpless. The problem was with my baggages which needed X-ray scan before boarding and that itself was switched off. Luckily a groundsman came there and hurriedly called one to start the machine. So I was in. I thanked the heaven. However when in the flight, I discovered that I was allocated a seat already given to somebody else. Moreover, this allocated seat was different from what I had chosen while booking the ticket online. An attendant calmly looked up to the issue, and offered me a front row seat (more legroom...ha ha). Everything else was fine after that. Reaching Delhi (on time of course) again I got onto boarding the flight to Bangalore. Nothing wrong here now. The journey sweeped off quite nicely and due to bad weather it was 5-7 mnts late while landing which is accountable.

Take note that because of the less legroom space, you can’t recline your seat much, to think of the person seated behind. In all these three flight trips there was at least one trainee attendant along with the regular 2-3. Overall Indigo flight experience was good.

I would suggest that if you an avid reader, better carry your own reading material to read in the air. And carry your own sandwiches ;-)
