I flied in Indigo flight from Ahmedabad to Bangalore on 19th July with my husband with different PNR. I have some extra baggage which I wanted todistribute with other passenger. That passenger doesn’t have problem in that but the lady was not ready to give us boarding & also to that passenger. She told me pulling of luggage is not accepted and this is rule of the company. But nowhere it is written it is just their money making policy. If other party is ready to take my luggage with his responsibility without any objection what objection airlines should have that I don’t know. She was not ready to combined our hand baggage & check in baggage and then after charge for excess baggage(Total weight – allowable weight(27kg per passenger). She doesn’t want to take 22kg as check in baggage and 5kg as hand baggage. I have done many domestic as well as international travel but nowhere airlines people do weight of hand baggage. But Indigo airline is very special so they are doing weight of hand baggage even and that too in ahmedabad only. Finally we have paid excess baggage(15kg) because she was not ready to give boarding pass to the other party who is ready to take my excess baggage. She showed me one notice in which it is written that “It is not advisable to take luggage of others” which doesn’t mean it is rule. I know difference between rule & notice but I think indigo employees don’t know it.
Also me & my husband has 2 hand baggages(1 with 9kg & other is with 5kg) but she was not ready to accept it. She wants both hand baggages with 7kgs. by this time we knew, this is to harass us(because we have not offer her any thing extra and taken exact receipt what we have paid as excess baggage)**. Then after she has combined our check in baggage just after 2 minutes when she told me if u have different PNR u can’t combine your hand baggage. She has not given us seats together(28A & 28F) though flight is almost empty. So It shows their rules are vary from hand baggage to check in baggage and passenger to passenger.
And the height is today I come to know from my collogue e that yesterday only his parents travel by other airlines with 20kg excess baggage without any cost. Generally people in domestic flights don’t carry 10kg even. This is my observation every time I fly. This time we have some excess baggage becasue we moved to another city so we wanted to take the things with us. Same time yesterday even flight was almost empty with 70% people carrying only 10kg including their hand baggage. I would not recommend this airline again atleast from Ahmedabad airport
