Though IndiGo claims they are the lowest cost airline, it is not often true. Many times on a return flight you can get cheaper fares (I travel weekly) on Spicejet or AirIndia. And also GoAir on many sectors. They have no frequent flyer program (which means they are saying - loyalty has no rewards), no hot beverages, (a simple coffee costs Re 1 in material costs, profit of Rs.24 if you charge Rs.25 per cup and make a lot of passengers happy especially on a morning 5am flight but NO!
They neither have it nor provide it. They have NO cotton balls or ear plugs for especially children or passengers who have ear sensitivity. I personally dont have any problem but I have started to carry it for those passengers in extreme pain.
The worst part of it is the flight attendants are non-challan about addressing the passengers plight about their ears. They also congregate too much amongst themselves. Lastly, they fill an already small cup with 2/3 to 3/4 full of water and make you feel guilty for asking a second cup of "WATER". Imagine that, and they claim it is a low cost airline.
I would say, while they may be making money, passengers needs to wake up and smell the "coffee (or tea)" ... who is getting the better deal.. IndiGo or the YOU the money paying passenger. Think about that next time you travel. By the way, I have clocked over 500 flight domestically and over a 1000 internationally and this is my 2 cents worth.
