Im a frequent indigo traveller b/w vadodara & delhi route. its new timings are 9:15 am departure(from vadodara) & 11:30 arrival(in delhi).
now lets check out the various parameters:-
)flight reservation:-thats the best part of indigo, its complete hassle free, I generally book on phone, sometimes have done online booking aswell(actually I dont trust my printer), booking is easy & they easily give my favorite "window seat"
)on time or not:- 90% of the time its on time, only bottleneck is if an "indian airlines plane" scheduled before its departure is stuck, or when due to heavy conjestion it does not get permit to land at delhi airport
)air hostess(my favourite issue)- ok types, if u r lucky u might spot that one sexy air hostess(name concealed, also beauty lies in eyes of beholder), service wise I think:"jet airways" airhostesss are the best. its just that sometimes indigo cabin attendants just smile, but dont genuinely try to help the passengers(e.g in putting the luggage in cabin, serving water, trying to pacify first time travellers & especially the little babies(when they start crying only god can help u)
)the plane- they use airbus A-320s, its ok for economy class, the leg space is although not much, cabin space is also not much, but sufficient for ur one cabin bag & a laptop.
)the pilots- are gud, obviously the best pilots in town are from "indian airlines", but at indigo also generally the flights are never shaky, (i have experienced shaky flights twice in spice jet), the landing & take-off are just fine. also last time I travelled, it was quite an experience, the pilot was so talkative, it was like he had not spoken to anyone in years, he started cracking jokes, & it was as if while informing about the weather conditions & other flight details like altitude, temerature etc(which is mandatory) , he was taking chances to say his well rehearsed jokes. anyway the first time travellers on that flight might expect too much from the captain the next time the fly.
)food & snacks- not a gr8 gustatory experience, only water is free of cost, generally they serve sandwiches that are very steeply prices, the regular beverage stuff like coke, juices etc are also available(not for free)
)price(b/w vadodara & delhi)-this is the most important parameter & thats why I reserved it for the last, they usually charge b/w Rs 2100 to Rs 2600 in normal circumstances, depending how many days before the schedule departure u reserve, u will obviously get a good deal if u reserve atleast 10 days in advance & around Rs 3000 during heavy rush & festival season. this fair is not much, because earlier jet & indian airways used to charge atleast Rs 5, 000 for the same route(in 2004-2005), before indigos entry. & I had to travel all the way to ahmedabad to catch a flight(spice jet) to delhi from there.
)overall experience- nice if ur stomach is full.
