Indian Independence - 75th Anniversary: IndigoGift

Traveled by 6E 6892 from Chennai to Bengaluru on 14 August 2022. Given the highly unsatisfactory baggage service of almost all Indian airlines, I requested the staff at the check-in counter at Chennai to label my suitcase fragile. I was told Indigo did not have any fragile tag service any longer.


On arrival in Bengaluru, I found the lock of my new suitcase was broken. Complained immediately to Indigo staff at Bengaluru airport. He took my mobile number, email id, baggage tag etc but refused to give an acknowledgment. Informed me it would be of no use complaining to to Indigo management as they would not offer any compensation except an apology.


Even a repair of the lock for my new suitcase is going to cost me both time and money. But Indigo thinks an apology is all-comprehensive and good enough compensation for its lapses and damages to my suitcase.


In response to my oral complaint, Indigo has given me a voucher for Rs 500 as compensation for damage to my new suitcase just now. This is the Indigo Gift for me on the eve of 75th Anniversary of Indian Independence.
