Poor management by Indigo

I had traveled from Indigo from Delhi to Hyderabad, and I found it a really bad experience. There were a series of incidents happened and I found it was really a bad decision to choose Indigo.


Due to weather problems flights were getting delayed but my flight was the last to leave the airport. Below is the series of incidents happened:




  1. ETD was 8:30 PM. First information of delay was received as SMS at 7:08 PM. Most of passenger would have checked by then. The information should have come earlier.




  2. I got message of rescheduling 4 times - to 2320 hrs, then to 0030 hrs, then to 0110 hrs and then to 0135 hours. Why it was not coordinated properly with ATC and get a right time so that passengers can carry out some meaningful work instead of keep on waiting.




  3. The display in airport was continuously outdated showing wrong departure time.




  4. Even with 6 hours of delay complimentary dinner was not given by Indigo. Just a refreshment from KFC was given which was not sufficient for anybody.




  5. We have paid for food in flight. However we were not served food in the flight.




  6. There was nobody at airport to help out. I tried to talk to Indigo staff 3 to 4 times. But they were running away and were avoiding us.




  7. Last time given to us for on-boarding was 1:45. We boarded flight accordingly. But then we kept on waiting for 2:15 and flight did not start. When we asked the crew they said they are waiting for crew and pilot replacement.




  8. There was passenger with infant and I can feel what problem he would be facing when his baby was in trouble sitting at a small seat waiting indefinitely. This was a horrible experience.




  9. When other crew party came they were gossiping and moving in and out continuously. They were not sure who would go with the flight.




  10. When some passengers started complaining crew members were talking very rudely. That was a classic example of "Not my job". They were just saying flight has not been delayed due to their individual fault. They were not representing Indigo.




  11. The belt announced in flight for baggage claim also got changed when we reached to pick the bags.




  12. After moving out of plane the corridor to airport was not open. It was locked. Airport staff probably was not informed and all passengers got stuck in the corridor.






It was the case of extremely poor management and I am afraid of choosing Indigo even at lowest cost.


On reply of this email Indigo tried to put everything on Weather and airport staff. When I asked whose responsibility is to co-ordinate with Airport staff they said they have shared feedback with airport staff.


After two follow ups Indigo returned Rs 250 for meal.


For my recent travel I took Air India flight at rates 2000+ more than the rate of Indigo, but I did not choose Indigo. Until it is an unavoidable situation I would avoid Indigo.
