INDIGO Denied Boarding, Robed Me of Rs 6000/- and Spoiled My Day
On 16th June I booked Ticket on INDIGO Flight 6E372 for travel from Hyderabad to Ahmedabad on 23rd June. I web checked in( PNR F97HGG, Seat 22F).
On 23rd Morning when I reached INDIGO counter at Hyderabad Airport, to my utter surprise I was denied boarding saying that I was late by 1 minute.
I looked at my watch, it was 5.21 am. Yes, I was late by 1 minute but still 44 minutes were left for the departure and I had also web checked in.
I requested the staff to issue boarding pass but he advised me to talk to the Manager as according to him only the Manager could help if he wanted to. Surprisingly, instead of helping, the Airport Manager appeared to take pride in telling me that he would rather follow company policy than help me. He went on to advise me that there was another flight to Ahmedabad via Mumbai and I should go to reservation for further assistance.
I had an important meeting at 10 am at Ahmedabad and I requested the Manager to try and help me he did not.
Left with no choice, I approached INDIGO reservation, as there was no other flight to Ahmedabad, there I was forced to shell out another 6000/-(six thousand Rs) to buy another ticket. They said that the old ticket fare got forfeited forNO-SHOW
I was highly upset but was helpless. I complained to INDIGO customer care who called up and requested me to allow them 24 hours to thoroughly check the incident and come back to me. I did.
But to my utter surprise, immediately within minutes of disconnecting the call I received an email that since I was late in reaching the counter boarding was denied as per the policy and that I should cooperate with them.
It clearly shows that INDIGO had no intention to investigate the incident and that it was only interested in showing the complaint asCLOSED, somehow.
It also refused to refund the amount I paid for buying the new ticket.
To me this is nothing short of robing me of my hard earned money and spoiling my day inflicting tremendous amount of mental trauma and financial losses.
This kind of Unprofessional behaviour is not expected from a leading airline like INDIGO.
INDIGO please pa back my second ticket money, apologise and compensate me for my other losses that I incurred on account of reaching 6hours 30 minutes late at my destination.
