I flew Indigo on flight 6E 136 on 06/02/2012 from Pune - Kolkata. Due to road constructions going on at Rajarhat area, I reached the airport after the check-in counter had officially closed(I reached at 10:40, flight would leave at 11:15 AM). Amazingly, the check-in attendant gave me a boarding pass with the stipulation that I could have no checked-in baggage. Since my trolley suitcase was too heavy to be counted as one(14 Kgs, against allowed limit of 7), she immediately arranged for it to be checked into the next Indigo flight due later that day. Thus, Indigo offered the rare compromise between
1) Making allowance for the unfortunate delay of the passenger(myself)
2) Making sure the flight leaves on time, so as to not inconvenience the other passengers,
that too without charging an extra penny from me! I picked up my luggage the next morning in 5 minutes from the Indigo counter at Puen airport, without any hassles whatsoever! I wish more airlines were so understanding, and not hell-bent on selling your seat to another passenger even if you were a minute late(take a hint, Jet Airways!).
I’d fly with Indigo again for this act of understanding on their part - I hope it was not a one-off incident on part of that check-in attendant, but is an accepted policy in entire Indigo!
