I am amused by the classification of the place as affordable -- it is acually one of the expensive places I have been to.
Let me not digress from the real issue -- i.e. to share my experience. The bar is packed on a weekend evening -- so make sure to book a table in advance, else reach in good time to get a place. I actually walked out of the bar, since the lady manager was helpless -- all the tables were occupied. However, it was to be that I have a drink session -- the manager sent for a person -- there was a table available on the first floor -- but he politely asked if we would like to check out for that -- he asked for it in a hesitating manner which made me think as if there is something wrong.
But, honestly, it was pefect, even better. The first floor thing is more of a room -- sofas and chairs are put to give it the look more of a drawing room than a bar. The rectangular paintings give it a soothing decor. The flooring is not overdone -- just normal yet impressive. Also this part of the bar is not crowded -- just 4-5 tables allow for privacy and space for conversation. Imagine, Candle Light Drinks, background music -- a perfect place to have a date!
The drinks menu has all the varieties -- Indian as well as Foreign Brands. Appetisers, go in for the Lamb dishes. I have not really enjoyed the veggies stuff here, though.
Service levels are more than satisfactory -- it would be better if they reduced the time lag for serving -- the peak hour sometimes takes over 20 min. for even a veg. stuff.
They also serve the main course (lunch/dinner) which, however, have never given it a try.
The drawbacks are the location -- it is not so visible. And the other is of course, finding a table if you are late.
But if you ask me, I would enjoy my drinks even otherwise just interacting because the crowd is pretty good and especially if you are in a group -- many a times, the foreigners outnumber the locals.
And last but not the least, it is pretty expensive. So it is important that one goes with a specific purpose -- dating, perfect place at the first floor.
Recommended.
