Only business, and eating money of patient

Dear All,

I had a very bad experience with Apollo Hospital, Delhi. Following are my concerns. I would like to request you to never find a chance to visit there even if you are loaded with Insurance and financially very very strong.

Following are the doctor’s which we had consulted for my father current illness:

Dr. S. Chatterjee(Internal Medicine)    9811159004

Dr. Ajay Lal(Chest Specialist)

Dr. Vinit Suri(Neurologist)

Dr. Ahlawat(Urologist)

And many more....

My Plan was that as a member of United Health Care Insurance, let us visit Apollo for my father general check up like:

  1. Fever

  2. Breathlessness

  3. Frequent Urination

  4. Brain Stroke (Dec. 2003) but was totally stable.

Before visting there my father was able to talk, take food on its own and can go for bathroom without any help. I had consulted S. Chatterjee for the above problem and he told for a general body health checkup. Finally I get approval of pre-authorization from United Health Care and he got admitted to Apollo hospital. Followings are datewise details:

First Admission on 26 July 2005 To 06 August 2005: Multiple kind of test started on Dr. Chatterjee advice and they are unable to find any cause for the fever. Fever somehow controlled on antiobiotic but still undiagnosed.

After the release on 6Aug Drs started nearly 12-13 medicine daily and he was starting deterorating and finally he was unable to walk, unable to take food and need person on 24hour basis for his daily usage. Completely bed ridden and was unable to breathe properly.

Again we admitted them for further consultation they admitted there in ICU. They have an also an HDU! kind of rooms where you can feel the ability of Doctors. HDU is less costlier but best for money making.

He was completely on Oxygen, and when we feel that we can now come out from the clutches of these people, we had taken a Discharge against Medical Advice and shifted him to different hospital. Now he is doing good.

People responses near about ICU is that they are only doing there business, and eating money of patient. Most of patient expenses are more than a lac and resultless and hopeless. Take a general survey of general ward and ICU attendant, you will see the pain with which they expresses them selves.
