Lost Glory !!!

Indrayani express really sounds a nice name...Indrayani is a river flowing through Western India dotted with picturesque places and hence the name given to this train.

Till a couple of years back or so, this premier train was as fast as Deccan Queen on the Mumbai-Pune segment. Leaving Mumbai CST at 6:00 a.m. it took 3 hours 30 minutes to reach Pune...But with Indian Railways trying to be more passenger friendly, this train halts at Dadar, Thane, Kalyan, Karjat, Lonavala & Shivajinagar...phew !

This has taken a toll on its running time and now it takes 3 hours 45 minutes to reach Pune but it does run quite fast between its halting stations.

Thus you can always count on this train to reach Pune on dot time and adding flavour to the beautiful journey is the wonderful pantry service on this train. With its halts at Thane & kalyan, this train is very convenient for people residing around Thane suburbs.

Thats it folks...see you later !
