Came to know of this website from one iPhone advertisement and thought it to be a good shopping portal
shopping site. Sporadically, I checked few products to compare with other shopping sites. Three products shortlisted are
[1] Avermedia HD EzRecorder Plus (C283S)
[2] Philips 3DBlu Ray Player HTS-5151
[3] Apple 16GB iPad mini with Wi-Fi + Cellular.
Now, let me mention that I and my family have a vast online buying experience starting from ebay, Jabong, Bookmyshow, Flipkart, Homeshop18, Myntra etc.
I thought to order the low priced one to have the experience. So it was the Avermedia - C283S for 8K+. I placed the order on 16-08-2013 after reading its claims at it’s "About us" and "why Infibeam" page. While the product has to be delivered in 4-5 days time I noticed the order page was updated on the second day with "delivers day" as 22-08-2013 (7 days).
All right and acceptable…….
Having a decent online buying experience elsewhere, I was waiting for the shipping details to be updated. On 22nd also I did not find it updated and tried calling the given number 079-40260260 to know the status. I had a new experience of "My call Queue position & expected time" and I immediately thought why such queue if it is has a basic logistics to handle the product delivery. After all infibeam.com only sells & delivers the products.
I was lucky to get thru after about 15 minutes of voice message and only to here the known fact from the lady attending my call. Come on...! I am not calling for this...
She told me of some technical stuff and she will remind the vendor about it... blah blah. I have to wait for the product or the relevant update for few more days as was told by the lady. I had a very different experience with shopping sites like Myntra however and they do not deal with
I may not go for any other purchase from this website. It might have been an exceptional case only or even if all reviews on Mouthshut are exceptions considering they sell hundreds of products on a daily basis. But, I think its business is not managed properly. Its all about managing logistics. As I am in South Delhi, delivery from anywhere in the country will not take more than 3 days for such business.
My suggestion to other members to deal cautiously and start with a very small amount item in case the price differentiation is very tempting.
