I ordered five books on June 28th from Infibeam.com. Infibeams promise was that the books would be shipped within 4-7 business days. It has been 10 business days now, but there is no sign of delivery. The worse thing is that there is no way feedback from them regarding what is going on. The status on the web page has been saying "shipping in progress" for the past one week. There are no emails from them, their phone is always busy, and no one answers when I try their live chat feature. On the other hand flipkart.com(the only other internet retailer I have tried) has been giving me very good service.
My advice is to avoid Infibeam.com. It is surprising how in this competitive age these people can be so disconnected from the customer. I have paid them by direct debit from my banking account, and am now worried about how to recover my money.
Update: The Infibeam people took note of this review, and called me. The books reached within 2 days of their call, and they also credited me Rs. 200 for my next purchase. The agent was very apologetic about the delay and about the lack of response to my emails, and requested me to give them one more chance. He gave me his personal phone number for future use, and assured that emails would be responded to. He did admit that they have only one phone line and that it is unfortunately busy most of the time.
He also requested me to update my mouthshut review!
