Keep it up Infibeam and customers dont forget to read the stipulated delivery time!
I am writing this post because I do not know of any other way to make up to the customer service at Infibeam . While they have been patient and polite, I had been making unfair demands and blaming them for lack of service. And I had been lacing up my phone calls with some strong language (understatement, I use power language, desi style with frequent references to the listeners family and generations when I get frustrated).
I have been surprised at the polite and tolerant attitude of the customer service people at Infibeam , and also at their punctuality of service. I feel like a dolt. But how much was I to blame for flying off my handle? You judge.
Well, I am a huge fan of Robert Jordan and the Wheel of Time series. The last books I had bought of the series were "Shadow Rising" and "Winters Heart" and then I couldnt find any more books in the stores for a long time. Then I heard and read on the Internet that Robert Jordan had passed away. I felt sad and downcast. For a few years, understandably, I did not search for any more books by Robert Jordan.
Around a month back, while browsing online bookstores, I came suddenly upon a new and posthumous book by Robert Jordan, "Gathering of Storms" which had been written following notes and manuscripts of Jordan by Brian Sanderson and edited by Jordans wife. I was overjoyed and immediately placed an order at Infibeam .com. The book arrived within four days, counting a Sunday in between! That meant I actually got the book within 3 working days.
However, when I started to read the book, I couldnt really follow and found that I had missed buying a title called the "Knife of Dreams" that had been published in between and was placed in the series before "Gathering of Storms." Money did not matter in front of passion and I immediately placed and order with Infibeam .com for the book I had missed in the series. This time, even after 7 days passing, there was no sign of the book. It was then that my patience broke.
However, the thing that was pointed out by the Customer Service people, that in each case of my transaction, both during the transaction process and also by confirmation email, stipulated delivery time had been clearly mentioned. While in case of the first book they had clearly written that time of delivery would be between 4-6 days, for the next book they had mentioned that it would be 8-10 days to deliver. It was not really their fault that I had missed that written information, and also my expectations had been built according to the prompt delivery of the first book. The customer service at infibeam .com also informed me that this particular copy was being imported only upon my order, so that took the time.
So, I came to know that even though one can be ordering two books in separate orders of the same writer, and same publisher, delivery times can vary upon individual logistic requirements and Infibeam .com always warns about the time it would take to deliver in writing. I received my second book within the stipulated time, and don’t have any grievances. What is more embarrassing is that there were no grievances to start with.
Thank you Infibeam , and keep up the service.
I am reading the "Knife of Dreams" now.
