I ordered a couple of products worth in excess of 8000 INR. (Order ID: 10991628) Since their login system was not working, placed an order by google account. After having placed the order, I got NO confirmation mail, no sms nothing! But that was just the start of the ordeal.
In the product page, they promised 2-3 days. Later, after placing order I noticed it was only SHIP within x days. Now this is cheap marketing. Why will the customer be interested in how much time you will inventorize a product or procure a product or grow it on trees for that matter. All I am interested in, as a customer, is how much time you need to deliver it to me. Isn’t it the whole point.
Any way I live in Bangalore. I consider it to be metro city. Given the amount of young tech savvy people in the city, must be a big chunk of any online e-commerce system. Infibeam took FIVE DAYS just to ship the product! And then to make up for the last time, and to do justice to their sense of black humor, they have shipped it through some SAFEXPRESS by road. Seriously by road! So to travel from Delhi to Bangalore they need 4 more days!
Today is the fourth day post the shipment. 9th day since I posted order. I called the customer care at infibeam about the delay. They have no idea as the courier service, the only information it displays is that they recd. the shipment order in Delhi. Thats it. Called up the customer care at the courier service. The product is not even reached Bangalore. God knows how long more I will have to wait.
Imagine, if this is the company’s response to sending a product, what will be their response to product being faulty and which needs to be returned/replaced! I totally believe in the horror stories written by other reviews about the return policy and replacement. This e-commerce portal symbolizes every fear the customer has with respect to online shopping. The inherent fear which was up to a big extent removed by the other pioneers in the field of e-commerce. Even at e-bay, which is like e-commerce of small sites, the response is way better. And they choose a formidable courier company.
My advice will be to stay away from this. No matter how good the pricing is. If the product is not in hands even after 10 days, and site doesn’t even tell you before hand how long it will take to deliver up front, the whole experience is completely ruined.
