Hi friends. Surfing through this site I found a topic of Infosys and was curious to see if any review has been written on It or not. To my surprise there is none. Now you may think how did I land up with the name Infosys. The primary reason is that I am an Employee of this company. As everyone knows that this is the dream company to work for any Indian software engineer. And yes this by far is true. Even I in my diploma college days when we hardly knew any IT companies and only a few big names like Infosys, TCS and Wipro ruled to roost we had a dream of working in this and today I have fulfilled my dream.
Now what makes this company so special. What I feel is that the attitude of management towards their employees is the key factor here. Here is a company that gives prime importance to its employees who they think are the main people because of which the company is where it is. As its saying goes ‘Powered by Intellect. Driven by Values’ is absolutely true for this company.
This is one company which believes in providing everything in house. They are not satisfied with just having a few buildings for running their operations. The most common things that anyone can find in any of the Infosys DCs (Development Centers) are cool buildings designed which look like architectural wonders, Swimming Pool, Gymnasium, 2 to 3 Food courts, Café CoffeeDay outlets, Domino Pizza Outlet, in some cases a departmental store, and employee care center also known as the infy hostel which is actually like a 4star hotel and many more things and yes these are present in all the Infosys DCs. These are some of the things that motivate the people to work here. In addition they have big gardens and golf course, amphitheater and in one case a multiplex inside their DC. Infosys has DCs in various cities namely Pune, Mohali, Chandigarh, Bangalore, Mangalore, Mysore, Hyderabad and Bhubaneshwar.
The work culture here in Infosys is really good and my friends who work in different organizations also agree to it. Here we have to call each other by their first name and no suffixes like Sir, Ma’am etc are to be put neither prefixes like Mr. Ms. Etc are preferred. Also the seating arrangement does not showcase the level of authority and everyone is treated like one. You and your superior stand in the same line while taking lunch at the food court.
Now reading all these one my feel that this is a really good organization to work in. This I would tell is ones own perspective and how you see things. Many people think that one gets lost in the crowd and to a certain extent this is true. Also there are less onsite opportunities but all thisdepends on one’s project. Ultimately when you see the broader picture you will surely realize that this is a great company to work in. Moreover you get a very good brand name in the future when you may want to switch to some another company.
